When I first joined Tula XII, it was a pretty straightforward decision. I wanted a discount on the products I loved – simple as that. But what I found was so much more than just savings. I discovered a vibrant community, deep friendships, and a ton of fun. Here’s a peek into my journey and why joining Tula XII might just be the best decision you ever make.
The Discount That Started It All
Like many, I was initially drawn to Tula XII for the discount. As someone who thrives on paper planning, getting a deal on the supplies I was already buying was a no-brainer. From day one, you get 25% back as commission (that’s like a 25% discount – you just get it back in one of our two paychecks each month). But that initial draw was just the tip of the iceberg. The real magic began once I started to connect with the community and dive deeper into the world of Tula XII. I had been part of multiple direct sales (DS) companies in the past; in fact, I was still with a different DS company at the time and had a team of 30+ women. Due to some changes with corporate (and nothing to do with the ladies I worked with), I just wasn’t having fun anymore (and that was one of the main reasons I had joined). Stepping into Tula XII and the Harmony Heroes team was a breath of fresh air that I didn’t even know that I needed.
Staying for the Fun and Friendships
Once I became a part of Tula XII, I realized that this was about so much more than just planners and discounts. I found a crew of like-minded women who were all passionate about planning, personal growth, and supporting each other. The friendships I’ve made have been the highlight of my journey. Let me share some of my favorite memories.
Leader Retreats: More Than Just a Getaway
Next month marks my fourth leader retreat, and I couldn’t be more excited. I joined Tula XII in February 2021, and earned a spot at my first leader retreat that August – it was a whirlwind of excitement as I had a last-minute opportunity to attend. I found out about a week before retreat that I would be eligible to attend! Not much time for planning! So just a few days later, I was flying to Ohio, being picked up by my sponsor Wendy, and sharing a hotel room with two women I had never met in person before. Would that make you nervous, too? I have to say, though, that it didn’t take long for us to become fast friends. I think that trip really solidified my desire to build and grow with Tula XII.
The next year, there were six of us from our team and we stayed together in an AirBnB. Sooooo many memories, mostly involving ridiculous jokes and lots of laughing. It started off with me asking the other ladies, “where are you?” because they were taking for-e-ver to arrive to the AirBnB. “20 more minutes,” was the reply…which eventually became “Four 20 more minutes.” Let’s just say, Mandy is no longer allowed to run the GPS. 🤣
These retreats are a perfect blend of learning, bonding, and just plain fun. From pottery night, where we laugh and cheer each other on, to staying in an Airbnb together, the camaraderie is unparalleled.
Road Trips: The Journey Is Half the Fun
One of the best parts of these retreats is the journey itself. I’ve had some unforgettable road trips with my planning besties, Mandy and Wendy. We’ve shared countless laughs, deep conversations, and of course – road trip snacks. The open road, great company, and the anticipation of what’s to come make these trips something I always look forward to. Last year, Mandy and Wendy flew into an airport that was on my way to Ohio, so we had over seven hours in the car, each way! Wendy made fun of our eastern US mountains (aka “mole hills” in the opinion of my west-coast friends). We made a side-trip to visit another DS friend on the way. The return trip was chock full of idea generation, planning, and strategy discussions for our team and our personal businesses. THAT might’ve been the best part! I cannot wait to pick these ladies up again in just a few short weeks!!
The Power of Connection
The friendships I’ve made through Tula XII are irreplaceable. These are women who understand my passion for planning, who support me in my goals, and who are always there to share a laugh or a piece of advice. Whether we’re working together to reach our goals or just hanging out and having fun, the connections we’ve built are what make Tula XII truly special. Another thing I love is that these connections go beyond just our team and across the entire Brand Ambassador community. Just look at all of these fabulous Brand Ambassadors!! Can you tell who is on which team? Me neither!!
I was grateful to be able to connect with a couple of my personal teammates – Jennifer and Heather! And they’ll be joining me again this year – and bringing along more friends too! Woot woot! This will be my second year (though technically it will be the third in-person Brand Ambassador (BA) conference – covid put a damper on them for a few years, but they restarted in 2023 in person!) with not just the leaders attending, but having two days for our larger Brand Ambassador community as well! I’m excited to see familiar faces as well as meeting new people! One thing we did last year that I personally loved was the leaders created a welcome tunnel for the BAs to run through as they entered the conference doors. (Keep reading to see the photo.) We wanted to celebrate every person who was able to make it to conference, regardless of rank or title, and I think this was a great way to do that.
