the blended mama
Bio: Perfectly imperfect, highly caffeinated, economist by education, singer by training and writer by passion, I am an army wife living a gypsy-style life. Hardcore feminist, devout believer in God, Universe or whatever that Divine-Invisible -Almighty-Force-Listener of our prayers is called. Affirmer of humanity and oneness of all religions, I am also a mother of two, a cooking enthusiast, traveler, lover of nature, art and everything aesthetic. Once upon a time, I was a runner, a fitness freak, a gym-lover and a warrior of weight-training (that must have been a hundred years back). That was till I broke my back and hurt my hips and knee (the reasons being, trying to be Superwoman, trying to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders, people-pleasing and approval-seeking among other self-destructive, naive, overtly stupid and overly aggravating things). I have survived two major spine surgeries. So, right now I am sticking to walking and swimming. Writing is cathartic. It is my Valium and Xanax. I like observing people and writing about real life experiences. Army life, marriage, parenthood, mothering, child development, food, weight, health, fitness, depression, PTSD, narcissism, bullying and child sexual abuse are some of the topics of my interest.
