Let’s be honest: Not every morning routine feels magical.

We all want that peaceful, productive, Pinterest-perfect start to the day…
But real life? It’s messy. It’s busy. And it definitely doesn’t always go as planned.

If your current routine isn’t working for you—let’s fix it. The good news? A morning routine doesn’t have to be long or complicated to be effective. The goal is to start your day with intention—and maybe a little peace. 💛


☀️ My Morning Routine (and how I made it work for me)

These days, I wake up at 5:00 AM with a silent alarm on my wrist. (No blaring alarms here—just a gentle nudge to get the day going.)

From there, my routine is pretty grounded in rhythm and habit stacking:

  • 👟 Potty, brush teeth, and get dressed (yes—something besides jammies!)

  • 💧 Turn on the hot water kettle + take vitamins (which are beside the tea bags—yay for habit stacking!)

  • ☕ Make my matcha or herbal tea

  • 🧘‍♀️ Do a few minutes of stretching while the water heats up

  • 📖 Cozy up in my favorite reading chair to start my Bible reading (I’m working through a read-the-Bible-in-a-year plan for 2025)

  • 📚 Follow it up with 10 minutes of personal development—currently reading The Introverted Mom, and let me just say… I wish I’d read this a decade ago. As a blended family mama, going from 2 kids to 6 (plus a husband!) was a lot. And no one really prepares you for the mental load of it all.

  • 💻 Then I head into my office for a focused Power Hour of business work before shifting into my day job

  • 👨‍👩‍👧 Somewhere in there, I say good morning to my daughter before school and get a sweet kiss from my hubby before he leaves for work

It’s calm. It’s intentional. And most of all—it works for me.

  • 👉 Not sticking to it? Stack new habits onto something you’re already doing (like I do with vitamins + tea).

  • 👉 Feeling disconnected? Build in 5 quiet minutes to just breathe or reflect—no pressure, no productivity.

  • 👉 Not a morning person? That’s okay! Start small with just 10 intentional minutes and build from there.

You don’t have to wake up at 5 AM. You just have to wake up with purpose.
